Facial Gymnastics

Facial gymnastics are exercises for the face that you can use to greatly improve the overall look and appearance of your face.  It is especially useful in helping you keep a youthful and vibrant facial appearance even as you gradually advance in age.  You can also use facial gymnastics to promote more fluid blood circulation and blood flow in your face as well as to relieve some of your stress and tension. The right facial gymnastics can help you further the smoothness of your facial skin. It can also effectively promote a wrinkle-free face for you.

As you get a little bit older, your facial skin and muscles will eventually lose their firmness and start to sag.  You can effectively prevent this from happening with regular and properly done facial gymnastics.  These exercises will help you keep your facial muscles toned and looking fresh and fit.

There are many different facial gymnastics exercises you can try to keep you looking young and wrinkle free.  There are exercises that are specifically made to target different facial areas.  Always remember though, you should put on some kind of moisturizer on your facial skin before you do any facial gymnastics.  You can use your favorite facial cream if you have one, if you don‘t, ordinary tap water will do just fine.  You should not try doing any of the facial gymnastics exercises with a dry face. You might end up making your face look older instead of making it look younger.

You can firm up your forehead by simply moving your eyebrows up while at the same time pushing them down with your index fingers which are positioned right above your eyebrows. This is a very simple but effective exercise for your forehead. Do this for 1 set of 10 repetitions.

For firm and attractive lips, you can use these facial gymnastics:  (1) in a pucker position, try to move your upper lip towards your nose; at the same time, move your lower lip towards your chin.  Hold this position for a second or two then release your lips.  You can do this for 1 or 2 sets of 10 repetitions each; (2) alternatively, you can also exercise your lips by mimicking a sucking action.  Imagine you are sucking on a lollipop; hold the position for a moment and release. 1 set of 10 repetitions is adequate enough.

You should not forget about your eyes when you are doing facial gymnastics.  The eyes are the most telling part of the face when it comes to ageing.  The skin around them is the thinnest skin of the entire body and is therefore the most delicate.

To firm up the muscles around your eyes, position your fingers on the sides of your eyes, i.e. your temples. Pull your fingers back slightly to put some tension on the muscles that you are aiming for.  While in this position, close your eyes and maintain the tightened contraction.  This exercise will help you get rid of any sag that may be forming around your eyes. 2 sets of 10 repetitions each are enough. However, you can do more sets if you feel comfortable doing them.
