Celebrities in Shape: Sport routines of the famous

Are you looking for a great workout routine but can’t decide which one is best for you?  Do you think copying the routines of celebrities would be the best way to start?

If your answer to both of these questions is a definite “yes”, you are on your way to achieving your goal of getting a great and healthy body that you can be proud of and that you can count on.  Copying routines is the best way to start a workout because you already have actual proof that the workout works.  Of course the results would vary from person to person, but using a workout that has been proven to work on at least one person is still so much better than using an untested and unproven workout.  What better person to emulate a workout routine than a celebrity right?

Celebrities take care of their bodies not just for health and personal fitness but also for commercial purposes.  Their bodies are a big part of their product – themselves.  Thus you can be sure that they only use the best routines that they have found.  They will not use experimental and unsafe routines because the risk is too high for them.  So if it’s good enough for them to use a certain routine, chances are it is a routine that will also be good for you.

One of the fittest celebrities is Mike Sorrentino aka “the Situation” of the hit TV show Jersey Shore.  According to him, the workout routine should be done 5 or 6 days per week while incorporating just 3 or 4 exercises per routine.  It is also important to note that he recommends doing 1 routine for one day then a different routine for the next day.  That is, you should have at least 2 routines that you can alternate on a daily basis. This will allow one group of muscles to rest and grow while you are working out another set of muscles.

Neil Patrick Harris on the other hand, who plays lady’s man Barney Stinson on “How I met your mother” uses circus training exercises to keep himself in great shape.  He does workouts such as suspension training and handstand exercises.  He also gets himself involved in strength exercises and cardio workouts.  To increase his flexibility, he has chosen to do regular routines of pilates and yoga.

Joe Manganiello uses an intense workout routine to keep himself in top shape for his role in “True Blood”.  To work his shoulders, he uses drop sets with the heaviest weights that he can handle for several repetitions.  After he has maxed out the reps he can do with this weight, he will then take a lighter weight or “drop off” some weight and again do as many sets as he can.  He will repeat this until his limit.  For his core muscles or abdominal muscles, Joe uses hanging leg raises and hanging body twists.  These exercises focus more on lower abdominal areas.  They are also very effective for targeting the oblique abdominal muscles.
