Exercise as cure for laziness There are many people who don’t exercise because they (1) are lazy (2) have no time (3) cannot leave what they are doing like watching television, or (4) are mentally tired. They are the people who simply don’t mind being called lazy, or receiving negative comments about
laziness, which is a barrier to healthy life. They are those who need motivation to consider exercise not as an obligation, but treat it as a break from a day of stress. Maybe they need to be reminded that if it is mental tiredness that prevents them, it can be cured by physical activity. Lazy or mentally tired individuals can be motivated to exercise through the following actions:
• Do something you like to do. Schedule time for your favorite play, like basketball regularly and, after a few days, you will fell like a young kid again.
• Get a buddy or workout partner, but who will share your goals in your activity.
• Set your goals. If you want to lose weight, walk for 15 minutes each day during the first week, and change your goals during the second week.
• Shop for your exercise outfit that you will use for your workout.
• Switch it up. Use the other parts of your body by doing other related exercises like hiking, swimming or jogging.
• Take pictures of your present self, and keep a pair of fat jeans to show them to others to let them know that you used to fit these jeans before.
• Take enough sleep for at least seven to 8 hours to make your body function well and make you fresher and productive the next day that you are awake.
• Engage in dancing. Doing a dance routine is fun and a great way to lose weight. You can do it even inside your living room or with a small group of people who can be your dancing partners.
• Get an incentive program for yourself with which you can treat yourself for a reward after a workout for a set number of days.
• Get a dog to walk with you at your brisk pace. With a dog, you would want to walk more.
• Get into another activity if you are having a bad day with your present workout.
• Laugh at yourself if you don’t get the right moves. This will help you get health benefits, true to the medical saying that “laughter is the best medicine.”
• Make it a habit to go back to your workout if you don’t succeed the first time until it becomes a habit for you.
If you want to start a workout, you should be prepared for your time schedule, and remind yourself that if you cannot exercise today for 30 minutes, you can always do it for as long as you can the next day. This takes place after you have redefined your idea of an exercise and you have convinced yourself that there are really good reasons to do an exercise, the most important of which is that it lowers body fat and increases your muscle tone. By lowering body fat, a regular exercise can eliminate the risk of contracting serious diseases like obesity, diabetes and heart ailment, and can result in well-defined muscles and tighter skin. Another good benefit of regular exercise is the improvement of heart and blood vessel health. Unless you do away with laziness, or want to be motivated to do it, these benefits of a regular exercise can never be within your reach.
