The hot six-packs and toned arms are just some of the requirements in a woman’s checklist in finding their perfect mate. Of course women would opt for men, who can be their knight in shining armor, men who can fight for them, and would kill for them. Women are looking for security, for protection, and for comfort.
However, this is not always the case. Not all women have partners to protect them from harm. At that, I strongly believe that women should also learn how to protect and defend themselves, and that they should develop muscle strength not only for safety measures, but also for future instances. So why do women need muscle strength?
Pregnancy is the greatest journey a woman would ever take. It is the peak of womanhood. It is when a woman can label herself as a woman, and this journey greatly requires muscle strength. How is that so? When pregnant, women will have an extra ‘baggage’ and will require a lot of support from her body system. One way to enable women in handling their extra baggage is to strengthen their pelvic muscles. It is best to strengthen the pelvic muscles for better child support. As the child grows, the mother’s womb weighs more and increases in size, and with weak pelvic muscles the mother cannot stand for even a short period of time. This is due to the fact that her pelvic support is too weak to carry the extra weight from the baby. Aside from the pelvic muscles, the mother’s leg muscles should also be strong enough. Of course, the legs carry the weight of the body when walking and standing. While pregnant women are not advised to stand in long periods of time, they are very much required to exercise so as not to encounter any problems during labor. Lastly, women also need to strengthen their arm muscles, as they are to practice breastfeeding after child birth. Breastfeeding is the best mother-and-child bonding, and babies love to be breastfed in long periods of time.
Women should also develop muscle strength for fitness. Staying fit and healthy is the best way to prolong one’s life. Nowadays when more and more people die young, being physically fit is one shield of protection against diseases and even death. Developing muscle strength is achieved through rigorous exercise, like a 30-minute jogging everyday around the park, or a 20-minute exercise routine inside your own home involving push-ups, sit ups and jumping jacks. With the help of these exercise routines, women are sure to stay fit and healthy and live a longer life.
Women in control are now in, while the old damsels in distress are out. These women empowered and in control, have developed not only enough muscle strength but also their whole being. Now, men are being challenged by independent and empowered women who can take care of themselves. It is now time that women must not depend on men to change their flat tires or bring their gazillion shopping bags. In the end, the world will realize that there is such a thing as equality among men and women, and this can be started through simple muscle strengthening.
Developing muscle strength will not only make women’s bodies like that of the gym buffs but will also boost their morale and develop their personality by preparing them for the rest of their lives. Today, fitness is not just men’s vocabulary, but women’s as well.
