Cardiac rhythm

It is necessary to maintain and promote our cardiovascular health for all our bodily activities are underpinned by each heartbeat.

Defining Cardiac rhythm

Medical professionals use cardiac rhythm to describe what is going on in a patient’s heart. This is necessary for it will play an important role in detecting certain cardiovascular diseases at its conception. As such, to rule out the cardiac issues that may threaten the stability of a patient, it is indeed important to learn cardiac rhythm. Learning about cardiac rhythm is like tuning a guitar. You should be able to recognize each musical tune and it will require skill, practice, and patience.

Nonetheless, cardiac rhythm is as important to medical professionals as it is to athletic trainers. If you are engage in athletic trainings and regular exercise routines, you have to learn cardiac rhythm. Why is this so? During trainings, your body become subject to strenuous activities. This will prompt the heart to work harder and thus, cardiovascular muscles will double its effort to meet the needs of your body. Blood circulation goes faster and your heart rate is much like a car speeding in an expressway. Some who overdo as such end up with certain cardiac issues that could lead to a particular cardiovascular threat.

Learning Cardiac rhythm

There are various ways on how to learn cardiac rhythm but what is important is that you can learn it by yourself. First, you can listen to a particular cardiac rhythm from training CD’s, DVD’s and websites like the Cardiac Rhythm Simulator. When listening to the rhythm, pay a close attention to the pitches and frequencies of the rhythm. While listening, write down the names of the sounds according to your own interpretation, whether its frequency is fast or slow and low- or high-pitched. Then, take note whether a particular rhythm is suggestive of a normal or an abnormal heart rate.

Then, listen to another cardiac rhythm and try to guess the sounds if you can. You can use flashcards where you can write the names of each sound. This will facilitate better memory retention. You can opt to create your own flashcards or use an online flashcard maker. This could be hard at first but you have to be patient in order to learn the basics of cardiac rhythm.

At this point, you may be asking yourself, why go all through these activities just to learn about cardiac rhythm when you believe that you can proceed with your exercises seemingly unscathed? However, this is really far from what it seem, you have to learn as such because it will help you how to keep yourself from harm during exercise routines. You cannot go on doing exercises on the context of muscular failure just to achieve physical fitness. One has to be very aware each time you train that your body has its own limits.
